Home: The Gospel Narrative of Belonging
Every human heart carries an ache for home that nothing in this world can satisfy. Genesis reveals that God made humanity for perfect rest and shalom with Him, with one another, and with creation. Sin shattered that peace, turning us into restless wanderers, but God did not abandon His world. Through Jesus, the rejected exile who died outside Jerusalem's gates, God reconciles broken people to Himself and establishes the church as a foretaste of what is coming. Revelation 21 unveils the destination: a renewed creation where God dwells with His people and every tear is wiped away. That certain hope changes how you live right now.
That ache for home you cannot name points to something real: you were made for perfect rest with God, and Jesus is bringing you there.
Sin entered the world and brought restlessness, broken relationships, and exile from God. Yet through Christ, the old is passing away and a new creation is breaking in.
God has always promised His people a place to belong, a people to be part of, and His presence to dwell with them. Through Jesus, that home has begun to take shape in the church.
Jesus became the ultimate exile so we could find our way home. Knowing this transforms how we live as joyful strangers in a world that was never meant to be our final destination.
What keeps you going through life's hardest moments? The promise of a restored creation where God dwells with His people transforms how we face today's struggles.
