Advent

God does not wait for captives to find their way home. Isaiah 40 shows Him travelling through the wilderness to fetch His exiled people, paying abundantly for their sin. Zechariah 6 adds a startling detail: the coming rescuer would be both priest and king, combining offices never joined before, building a living temple from people of every nation. Isaiah 42 pictures a servant full of God's Spirit who brings justice without force, lifting bruised reeds and shielding flames that barely flicker. Jesus fulfils every thread of this ancient promise. Advent is the moment those promises became flesh.
